HURD does not boot at all

Hi,

I tried to boot the Hurd on a Siemens-Fujitsu E2010 Laptop.

I made a new logical partition /dev/hda5 under Linux with 1GB.
After  installing a ext2 file system I  untar'd gnu-latest.tar.gz there.
with grub-install I added grub (I do not have a floppy).

Using the following stanza in menu.lst

root   (hd0,4)
kernel /boot/gnumach.gz root=device:hd0s5
module /hurd/ext2fs.static --multiboot-command-line=${kernel-command-line}
--host-priv-port=${host-port} --device-master-port=${device-port}
--exec-server-task=${exec-task} -T typed ${root} $(task-create) $(task-resume)
module /lib/ld.so.1 /hurd/exec $(exec-task=task-create)

Just nothing happend when I wanted to boot. After approx 15 seconds the
system reboots.

My /proc/interrupts looks like this

 0:     245408          XT-PIC  timer
  1:       3665          XT-PIC  keyboard
  2:          0          XT-PIC  cascade
  8:          3          XT-PIC  rtc
 12:      54971          XT-PIC  PS/2 Mouse
 14:      14296          XT-PIC  ide0
 15:         24          XT-PIC  ide1
NMI:          0
LOC:          0
ERR:          0
MIS:          0

So I think there is no conflict.

Any hint on how to procede?

Best regards,
                    Joern
