Yes, it is, AFAIK GNU/Hurd doesn't work in VMWare, and since it's non-free
software, we cannot try to fix VMWare nor GNU/Hurd.
Please use Free Software like bochs (even if it's not exactly the same) or
run it on bare hardware.
