There is nothing new to tell about it. I made some patches for the Ruby
CVS, most of them got applied, Matz (the maintainer of Ruby) is fixing
some portabillity problems himself, so that the next release (1.8 or
whatever) should work on GNU hopefully. My interest in fixing it
decreased slightly as I'm mostly using Guile now, but I promise to
finish porting it.

Oh, they worked good enough for me to use them. There was some bug
which broke irb, but this can easiely worked around in the irb code
itself (if one is too lazy to fix the real bug, which is in Ruby
itself).

Cheers,
GNU/Wolfgang
