If you want to get this effect, there are two things you can do:

1. change the translator code to have RPCs or options to make them attach
and detach to certain nodes.  This is similar to the "multi-mount"
possibility in recent versions of the Linux kernel.  This is possible to
implement in the Hurd, and not hard at all.  Or:

2. just a firmlink (see /hurd/firmlink --help).
