thanks for your answer
I downloaded the last version of GSL and the error is different now.
I have os X 10.6.8 using gcc 4.4.1.
I tried to compile with different the options --disabled shared and without.
the error is :

/bin/sh ../libtool --tag=CC --mode=compile gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I.
-I.. -I.. -g -O2 -MT pow_int.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/pow_int.Tpo -c -o
pow_int.lo pow_int.c
libtool: compile: gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -I.. -g -O2 -MT
pow_int.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/pow_int.Tpo -c pow_int.c -fno-common
-DPIC -o .libs/pow_int.o
pow_int.c:42: error: conflicting types for 'gsl_pow_uint'
pow_int.c:39: note: previous implicit declaration of 'gsl_pow_uint' was here
make[1]: *** [pow_int.lo] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/Users/Ammelune/Downloads/gsl-1.15/sys'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

Thanks one more time for your help

Regards

Emmanuel

Please try again with GSL 1.15. GSL 1.9 is over five years old.

If you're looking at an FTP listing, the most recent version isn't
always on the bottom. E.g., ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gsl/.

Thanks,
Rhys
