Subject: Re: dual boot Windows - Linux
To: <address@hidden>
Hi John,
thanks for your tip. I would prefer to use Linux from my SSD hard drive,
for I have kids who love computers and tiny SD cards could easily
disappear, but if there is no good solution for installing NGU GRUB in one
of the partitions of my Windows drive, I will definitely consider it.
Or would there be a way to rename drive 0 (with WIndows) to Disc 1 and
rename disc 1 (with Linux) to disc 0? I suppose NGO GRUB could be easily
installed on the SSD drive with LInux.
Or is there a possibily to install NGU GRUB on a SD Card, which would be
looked at first during start up?

Hi All,
I dual boot by booting the 2nd OS by putting it on an SD card in a
USB2 adapter.
This old windows box in running AntiX that way as I type this.
If I want to boot Tails, I just plug in the Tails SD. Easy to have
real
backups also.

one more thing, when, in the /sys/firmware directory, I run the "ls -a"
command, I get " . .. acpi dmi memmap". I don' t know if that is
useful for you in this case.

Hermes,
When running Linux, is there a directory "efi" in /sys/firmware?
Thanks,

Windows has divided the disc (called Disc 0) in four parts:
(1) Recovery, 450 MB NTFS OEM-partition
(2) 100 MB EFI System partition
(3) 231,52 GB NTFS primary partition
(4) 826 MB NTFS OEM-partition
Is it possible to install NGU GRUB from Windows in this configuration?
