Interestingly enough, I get a similar error if I just open the grub shell and type "ls":

This error I only get *after* I insmodded either "uhci" or "ohci". Before I load one of them "ls" just lists the partitions on my hard drive (but not the one partition on my USB devicce).
As soon as I load one of those two drivers, "ls" returns nothing at all, and any other commands I tried just output the same thing:
> disk 'hd0,msdos1' not found.
Still haven't got a clue what is happening here. :-(
