What does GRUB overwrite on a GPT disk?
On MBR disks, backing up the first 440 bytes would allow to later restore the original MBR:
sudo dd if=/dev/sda of=mbr bs=440 count=1 #backup
sudo dd if=mbr of=/dev/sda #restore
What should one backup on a GPT disk before installing GRUB?
