Re: Installing grub2 with /boot on software raid

Hi All,

I installed all programs i removed one-by-one to see which one breaks 
grub2-probe, and unfortunately it seems to be mdadm, version 3.1.4 to be exact.

If i interpret the code correct, in util/getroot.c mdadm is called to get the 
MD_UUID, MD_CONTAINER and MD_METADATA variables. However, mdadm --export 
--detail /dev/md0 does not return MD_CONTAINER:
MD_LEVEL=raid1
MD_DEVICES=2
MD_METADATA=0.90
MD_UUID=f801cedd:550b38f4:78a9b883:5f5f67d5
MD_DEVNAME=0_0

Could that be the source of the problem ?
