I won't be able to help you, since I'm still stuck with that problem (at
the moment, the only way I managed to get my computer booting is to move
kernel and initrd on another computer and serve them via PXE). I also
tried elilo, but it doesn't work either (it writes a few lines on the
screen mentioning Linux and initrd, but they disappear before I can read
thoroughly; then the computer reboots immediately).
Anyway, could you check which firmware you have? It would be useful at
least to understand whether this issue is connected with a particular
firmware (or even a particular version) or not. In the latter case, it
could be triggered by a firmware bug, I really hope that's not the case.
Giovanni.
PS. I'm a bit disappointed by this list: there are a lot of questions,
but really few answers. Not blaming anyone, of course, but the net
result isn't very helpful...
