change splash image in solaris

Greetings !

 

need some help on changing the GRUB background and splash image in Solaris 10 x86 , tried a few things but did not help , rather it created a dark back background for GRUB .

 

 Here is what I did :

 1.Copy an image to the S10U10 system say om.jpg

 

 2.mv /boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz /boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz_orig

 

 3.mv /boot/solaris.xpm /boot/solaris.xpm_orig

 

 3.mv om.jpg /tmp/splash.xpm

 

 4.cp /tmp/splash.xpm /boot/solaris.xpm

 

 5.gzip /tmp/splash.xpm

 

6.cp /tmp/splash.xpm.gz /boot/grub

 

7. reboot
