Hi Gregg,

Thanks for your reply.

Upon boot, rEFIt comes up with three choices:  Linux - OSX - EFI Boot 
from USB Key.  I choose EFI from USB.  As expected, GRUB2 is loaded from 
the USB Key and presents it's list of options.  Currently that's just 
"Cute Key Loader".  I press ENTER and am then frozen.

I took a look at a few posts on YDL with PPC, but they do not seem to 
discuss GRUB2, EFI, or USB Key booting...

Again, thanks for your input but unfortunately it doesn't seem to 
address this particular issue.
