I don't know why that is happening but I do know of a workaround. Start gdb
and type "help directory". It will tell you how to specify the search
directories for source files.

Subject: gdb-5.2.1
Hello sir/madam,
We are using gdb-5.2.1 in IBM p630 machines(AIX operating system).
Eventhough we are compiling the source code with -g option, when we run
the application thru gdb, it is saying " No such file or directory" & it
just displays the line number. This happens only when the executable &
source code are in different directories. But the same is working fine in
solaris & red hat linux operating systems. Can you please help me
regarding this?
Expecting you earliest reply.
Thanking you,
R.Ganesh
