I'm mistaken. From the info manual:
You can enter plain TeX completely, and use `\' in the TeX commands, by
delineating a region with the address@hidden' and address@hidden tex'
commands. (The
address@hidden' command also causes Info to ignore the region, like the
address@hidden'
command.) The sole exception is that the `@' character still
introduces a command, so that address@hidden tex' can be recognized
properly.
Analogously, you can use address@hidden ... @end ifhtml' to delimit a region
...
and you probably found a bug in (your version of) texi2html. I'd
suggest you use makinfo anyway. If you want to generate html, you'd
be best off trying the latest prerelease:
