What version are you using?  Do you know where in the code the checking for "{ 
}" is performed?

I see 

rainbow-delimiters--propertize 

which only has 

(while (> end (progn (skip-syntax-forward "^()" end)

I can see that "( )" and "[ ]" get highlighted, but not "{ }".
