You could also try the following fontset:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
(custom-set-faces
'(default ((t (:family "Source Code Pro" :foundry "adobe" :slant normal :weight
normal :height 113 :width normal)))))
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
But you must install the Adobe source code pro font from [1]
