Problem of emacsclient

[XeCycle]

emacsclient confuses me in this case:

When no frames are present, run `emacsclient -ce '(gnus)'` (or anything
else similar, e.g. (org-agenda-list "a")).  A new frame pops up as
expected, but the buffer is read-only at first.  Press any key and it's
fine, but keys like `n' `p' won't work right --- it beeps.

However when there's at least one frame, all is fine.  (Except that Gnus
won't show splash image)
