I have a file containing text in some weird encoding. 'file' says:Non-ISO extended-ASCII English text, with very long lines, with CRLF, NEL line terminators
Basically, I want to convert this text to Latin1. I have tried recode and iconv assuming the text was utf-8, but they both claim that it is not utf-8. Maybe it is a mix of several encodings? I don't know.
But my idea is this: emacs seems to be able to _show_ the file just fine, regardless of whatever encoding it is. So I'm thinking: It must be able to save this file in Latin1.
How do I do that? /David
