HI!
For a black background... you could use the command mode (M-x), and
type
"set-background-color"
and when prompted type "Black"
Before that it would be a good idea to change the foreground color as
well
M-x
set-foreground-color
White
If you want to change it permanently you could do it either in .emacs or
.Xdefaults
In .Xdefaults you could add the following lines
emacs*Background: Black
emacs*Foreground: Gray90
or
Emacs.default.attributeBackground: black
Emacs.default.attributeForeground: gray90
For color syntaxing you could either do it in command mode
M-x
global-font-lock-mode
or through the menu (help - options - Global Font Lock)
for resizing you could try and add
emacs.geometry: 80x25
to your .Xdefaults, but Im not sure if it would help in your case. Let
me know if it does.
