[Help-glpk] GLPK vs. SCIP for solving MIP |

Hi All.
I have a large (10^5 variables) MIP problem which I'm struggling to
get GLPSOL to solve.
I saw on http://scip.zib.de/ some benchmarks which claim that GLPK is
16X slower in solving MIP.
Hence a couple of questions:
1) Really? 16X slower? Are there mitigating circumstances why the
difference in speed is so large?
2) If correct, is there a way of using GLPK in conjunction with SCIP?
I've grown used to GMPL, and have a task to complete, so learning a
new system from scratch would be a hinderence.
Best Regards
Kretch
