AW: [help-GIFT] Problem to connect to gift server

Hi there,

Thanks for this hint. I have already indexd a small collection and its
working. I simply indexed 10 images and everything went fine. The xml2fts
file is created, the InvertedFile.db is ok. I even connected successfully
from my flash client and php to the gift server. What can be wrong with my
big collection of about 13000 images I would like to index? Is it a problem
if .txt files or others are somewhere in there in a subdir e.g.? Or do I
have to give more memory to my computer? I have about 9900 .gif files and
3100 .jpg files in my big collection... maybe there are some additional
files like txt or png - could this be a problem?

Hi,

could you index a small collection with gift-add-collection and send the 
output to this list.

With gift-add-collection.pl --help you can get a list of the options and 
it might be good to manually select a directory for the cofiguration 
file that you have access to.

There are many possibilities for empty files, for example that there are 
no files with known image extensions in the directory that you indexed.
