Hi,
No I cannot :-) . In fact, I used the perl link yesterday without any problem. 
What does the GIFT server say when you do a query using the GIFT and the perl 
link? A problem might be that you maybe have not the perl developer files 
installed. In many distros you need some perl-dev package or something like 
that.
