I think that this happens when the images do not have a single feature 
in common with the query.
Images get included into the scoreboard when they have a feature in 
common with the query, otherwise they will not get returned, you can 
assume their score to be zero, in this case.
Most likely this will happen when you use pruning as not all features 
get used.
In general there are a couple of very common histogram features such as 
black and white that are in almost every image.
