I have a new Win 7 with a center mouse wheel. The default is scrolling,
and emacs doesn't see the mouse-2 event.

What _does_ it see when you click (as opposed to turn) the wheel?

Sorry for the ambiguity. This is when I click the wheel.

C-h k and then a wheel click does nothing. The "Describe key" prompt in the mode line does not change.

On the screen, a "circle with up and down arrows" appears. This is evidently the Windows 7 feature that permits scrolling using the mouse.
