Lennart,

I fully uninstalled Emacs-23-CvsP090226-EmacsW32-1.58.exe and installed the new 
Emacs-23-CvsP090502-EmacsW32-1.58.exe.

Unfortunately, I'm getting the exact same behavior and error message :-(
