[h-e-w] emacs auto complete

Hello there - new emacs user question

I can use TAB key to auto complete directories when runnning shell through
emacs.

All works fine unless the directory has a space in the name - e.g Program
Files - and then the auto complete / suggest(if more than 1) fails.

is there something I can put in my .emacs file to sort this out ?
