Do you see a chance to get a backtrace? Setting debug-on-error to t,
and then interrupting Tramp with C-g.
If C-g doesn't help, you might try to send a signal to the Emacs
process. Under UNIX, the FPE signal is helpful; but I have no idea
whether there is a similar possibility under Windows.
