Thanks, I didn't expect to find this command in the Subdir menu so I didn't look there.

I have to look more at the menus next time...

Backspace is very easy to use in Windows Explorer to get to the parent directory.

What is the equivalent in Emacs Dired-mode?



Caret, i.e. ^.  It's listed as the shortcut key for Up Directory in the
Subdir menu in dired mode.
