Just wanted to briefly remark that some scroll wheel mouse drivers might have 
an "exception list" of applications for which the enhanced features associated 
with clicking the wheel are not applied.  For example, the default MS 
IntelliMouse functionality is that when you press the wheel, a smooth scroll 
mode turns on.  My exception list includes runemacs.exe (and AutoCAD) so that 
the wheel click passes through.
