[h-e-w] CVS Newbie help

This is somewhat off-topic.

I'm trying to get the latest CVS version of emacs, but I'm having some
difficulty with the cvs system at Savannah.

I'm using the command:

  cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/emacs login

then pressing the enter key for a password.

I then get my standard shell prompt back, (is this the correct
behavior?)

at this point I type:

  cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/emacs co emacs

and I get the error message:

cvs [checkout aborted]: could not chdir to emacs: Permission denied

What am I doing wrong?

 - Chris (feeling like a complete idiot)
