Same as when emacs tries to print.  The printer turns
on, but no paper moves and nothing gets printed.

I think I agree with Andrew that this printer no
longer speaks plain text.  As a matter of fact, now
that I think about it, I believe the driver is doing
all the rasterization on the host processor.
Analogous to a Win-Modem.  I don't mind though, as it
does not take much processor to do it and it keeps the
cost down on the printer while allowing it to be even
more 'featureful'.  (A refurbished unit cost me $60
and it prints faster and with much higher quality than
ever did my old BJC-4000, which cost me 6 times as
much and for which a new black cartridge (needed after
years of refills) was going to cost me about $35!)  So
ps-print makes a lot of sense, but it seems to me that
there should still be a way to send old-style text to
the driver for formatting.  (I guess they figured that
Notepad could do that.  ;-)
