RE: [h-e-w] Controlling coding system for new files?

Well, yes I would prefer to do the same but about half
of my colleagues would object regardless of what i choose
for default encoding. So, why doesn't Emacs honor the regexp
in file-coding-system-alist when it creates a new file? And
how do I force it to?
