I guess I misspoke. What I am actually using with LaTeX are the hooks in
outline mode that let me show/hide parts of the LaTeX document. This is
very useful. I would like to be able to do something similar when editing
HTML/XHTML. In Homesite, for instance, I can "collapse" arbitrary text to
get it out of the way while editing. Even being able to do it based on
document structure or specific tags would be great, or using some arbitrary
marker.

Time to check out folding.el, I guess...
