[h-e-w] ange-ftp and file names with spaces

ange-ftp seems to have trouble with file names that have spaces in
them.  It gives an error of the form
    error in process filter: Opening output file: FTP Error: 
"/usr4/wnk/certificate: No such file or directory", 
/address@hidden:/home/wnk/certificate desc.htm 

The same error occurs on my UNIX workstations as it does under W2K.
Is there a way to work around this problem without just renaming the
files?
