Hey Bill, have you done any research on method acting?  See:

Or have you read Constantine Stanislavski's books?  I haven't, but I
suspect that there are some clues there about the essential triggers
of affect.

If I was in USA then I'd order used copies and read 'em.  Oh well,
maybe I'll add them to my amazon.com wish list.
