This might save someone a few seconds -- in cygwin if you
use scm_listofnull, the loader can complain:
variable '_scm_sys_protects' can't be auto-imported.
I got around it by using scm_cons(SCM_EOL, SCM_EOL) in place
of scm_listofnull.
