   After executing:
   make clean
   make distclean
   ./configure > configure.log
   make > make.log

   I executed the following command and could not find any reference to 
   libguile.so.9
   Please see attached configure.log and make.log

   # find . -name libguile\*
   [...]
   ./libguile/.libs/libguile.so.6.0.0

   make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/guile-1.3.4/ice-9'
   [...]

guile-1.3.4 results in libguile.so.6, which is too old for gnucash.
you will continue to experience these problems until you switch to a
newer guile version.  please cc address@hidden on reply.
