I'm sure the current maintainers would be happy to receive code
contributions from anyone.  If you think the current state of 
the gtk bindings for guile are too gnome-centric (is that what you 
are implying?) then fix it yourself.  

And remember, if there's anything the free software development
community can agree on, it's this: flaming the people who wrote the
code is not the way to put YOUR priorities on the top of THEIR list.
