There is a difference.
Release versions of guile-gtk do not depend on Gnome stuff.
CVS do because in that way I can work on both Gtk 1.2 and Gtk 2.0
But when you download next guile-gtk version (0.21)
you will not need gnome-common. It is used to make life easier to me.
