The Autoconf manual has a node named 'Portable Shell
Programming', that gathers such issues.
Look at it, and you will see how nice it this to have a public
place where all known issues are tracked. (In clear text:
please submit patches against the Autoconf manual instead of
updating your own list.)
thanks for the tip. i'll check for coverage and substitute the small
list w/ a pointer to this info.
in the future, for workbook/ files, feel free to make this kind of
suggestion via patch (i.e., edit locally, post a diff) -- this would
streamline the process a bit and encourage familiarity w/ these tools.
