Gnome-guile used guile-snarf, but now that function's gone. I looked
through NEWS, ChangeLog, and libguile/ChangeLog briefly, but wasn't
able to figure out what the alternative (if any) was.
here's the libguile/ChangeLog entry:
2002-02-11 Thien-Thi Nguyen <address@hidden>
* Makefile.am (bin_PROGRAMS): Move `guile_filter_doc_snarfage'
to `noinst_PROGRAMS'.
(bin_SCRIPTS): Move all values to `noinst_SCRIPTS'; delete.
(noinst_PROGRAMS, noinst_SCRIPTS): New.
i did this change because i couldn't find any reference to these
programs in the docs. i posted a warning to guile-user also:
http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/guile-user/2002-February/002523.html
Is there an alternative? I'm trying to figure out how to fix
gnome-guile -- I'll also check CVS (this is with 0.20).
probably the best thing to do is to write a brief info page on
guile-snarf (and any other scripts we want to support -- i see that
guile-sdl uses guile-doc-snarf, for example). once that's done, there's
no problem moving the referenced scripts from noinst_SCRIPTS back to
bin_SCRIPTS.
in the same vein, someone (i volunteer) should write a page on
guile-tools. where these new docs should be included is another
question.
