OK.  Though I'm currently trying to fix some code that needs to
function across 1.3.4, 1.4, and 1.6, so I'll have to see what's
available and works under each version.  If 1.6 were all I had to
support it'd be pretty easy.

Thanks for the gh_eval_str clarification.
