since there seems to be fundamental issues gating 1.6 release, i'm
killing two birds w/ one stone: avoiding the issues, and working on
moving some procs from ttn-pers-scheme bin/snarf-docs to guile
scripts/read-scheme-source.  i'll try to keep notes updated at:
