Multiple syntaxes and specialized types, functions, and operators.

For example, algebraic syntaxes are more legible in some situations;
block-structured syntaxes more familiar; command-line syntaxes more
convenient.  Operators emphasizing dynamic state are sometimes more
intuitive; unusual types sometimes more directly related to the
problem domain.

Within all those variations, a core concept of computation remains
constant.  Scheme provides computation in one of its most abstract and
general, yet simple and effectively implementable, forms -- readily
adaptable to all of those "front ends".  Thus -- Guile.  Well,
originally, anyway.
