I think the proposed change would be an improvement.
(Can I get something off my chest? I think guile-devel itself
is a bad thing -- you guys apparently even brag that you don't
read guile-user, and you make backwards incompatible changes
without even the slightest gesture of interest beforehand
in what Guile's users might think. I think this is sick).
