Sure, as long as you mean supporting one or the other -- i.e. you can
use start/stop without having to have a top-level
with-profiling-enabled (or whatever) wrapper.  What I meant was that I
wanted to avoid requiring the wrapper so that you can use the profiler
in situations where you may not be easily able to modify the "parent
code".
