Seems like even the GRUB Manual need to be changed -
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/grub.html#Obtaining-and-Building-GRUB
. It shows ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/grub/grub-1.99.tar.gz instead of
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/grub/grub-1.99.tar.gz .
