well it's true, even with the most open computer-hardware-design by manufacturers, you won't get anything as well-tested and understood and obviously trustworthy as 18/8 stainless steel (I was just thinking of an analogy to Klean Kanteen, who advertise how their 18/8 stainless steel water bottles are obviously safer than plastics, or than aluminium + secret-formula-enamel , http://www.kleankanteen.com/faqs/faqs.html )
