Perhaps it'd be a good idea to take the opportunity to add a "linux" prefix
there to indicate it's a Linux-specific feature, and call it
disk/linux_mdraid.c or so.

Btw, how does this affect grub-install / update-grub ?  Both currently detect
RAID by using grub-probe -t abstraction, and load raid.mod when necessary.
Maybe with your patch they will need some adjustment.
