Yes, I do, if it is so different. If something is rewritten from scratch, it
is not continuous development but continual one. For example, just like
libxml and libxml2.

OK, I presented my arguments. If they are not convincing, so be it. If we cannot use the standard layout, then the current structure is my preference, simply because moving stuff around would make the history more complex and possibly confuse some tools. Anyway, we can live with any repository structure. We just need to document it.
